Nancy J. Aronson
Nancy Aronson is happily retired, splitting her time between New Orleans and Vermont. She has a B.A. and M.B.A. from Tulane University and and M.S.W. from McGill. She worked in the child welfare field for a number of years, had two children and then became the founding Executive Director of the Institute of Mental Hygiene (IMH) a private foundation that supports progressive mental health strategies and programs for children and their families in New Orleans. She continues to stay involved in the nonprofit world, serving on several boards and these past few years, helping with the recovery and rebuilding of her city. In the past year she has devoted her time to raising money for Swimming Upstream, a local theater piece of women's stories of the flood that had its premiere at the 10th anniversary celebration of VDay in April, 2008.
Nancy joined WDN in 2005 and became a Board member in 2008. She is active with the Gulf Coast Action Circle and is deeply appreciative of the support that WDN members have given these past three years.
