Marjorie Hamm joined our staff January of 2006. Marjorie is WDN’s Research Associate, and her work involves focused research on a wide range of topics related to WDN’s programming. She also enjoys collaborating with our members on a variety of exciting WDN initiatives and events.

After spending many years as a theatrical lighting designer and production manager for the dance community in the San Francisco Bay Area, she moved into event production and coordination. This eventually led her to WDN's 2005 annual conference where she served as a production consultant for that event.

In 1999, Marjorie took time out to return to school to finally finish her BA at UC Berkeley, receiving her degree in Geography (emphasis Environmental and Political Development) in 2001, with Highest Honors. After a short foray into cartography for Lonely Planet Travel Books, and a brief stint as a development assistant at National Center for Lesbian Rights, she turned her attention toward political campaigns, the Geography degree having lit the flame. She worked on Get Out the Vote operations in underserved communities in California, and the 2004 Kerry presidential campaign in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While deciding which campaigns to work on, Marjorie is pleased to be working at WDN where the members' unwavering support of progressive causes and social justice inspires her to continue political work to make positive and lasting changes here at home and around the world.
