Our speaker will be Betsy Mangone, who will help us continue our conversation about planned giving, trusts, wills, gifting to children and relatives, etc.
Betsy A. Mangone is vice president of the Philanthropic Services Group for The Denver Foundation. She has been in the major gift and planned giving field since 1982. She served as vice president of the University of Colorado Foundation and from 1996 to 2004 she was president of Mangone & Co., a charitable gift consulting firm which provided major gift and planned giving services for over 100 national and international clients.
Betsy serves as vice chair of the American Council on Gift Annuities, the national organization providing charitable gift annuity services to charities across the country. She is past president of the National Committee on Planned Giving, the national organization of gift planning professionals. Betsy serves as a member of the ethics committee of the National Committee on Planned Giving and as an advisor to the board of directors of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable. She is a member of the editorial advisory committee for the Journal of Gift Planningand a member of the Planned Giving Design Center's Editorial Advisory Board. She is quoted in local and national publications such as Smart Money magazine, The Chronicle on Philanthropy, Non-Profit Times, and The Denver Post.
Ms. Mangone serves on the faculty of several national charitable giving institutes, and appears on television as a regular panelist for Crescendo Interactive teleconferences. She is a frequent speaker at national and international planned giving and bar association conferences and seminars, and is the author of numerous articles and booklets on philanthropy, ethics and planned giving topics. She is co-author of a book, The Ultimate Bequest Program Book.
Betsy has served on the board of directors of Ronald McDonald House, Rocky Mountain PBS, Kempe Children's Foundation, The Women's Foundation of Colorado and Bootstraps, Inc. She is a member of the Denver Estate Planning Council.
