In 2006, we made an important decision to host our annual conference in New Orleans. Entitled Revitalizing Democracy: What We Can Learn from Katrina, our convening looked at the impact of the hurricane on the region and on the country. We examined how race and class shape public policy and heard from an amazing group of speakers addressing this issue from both local and national perspectives. Conference attendees participated in site visits with a variety of local groups in New Orleans.  Download our conference brochure below and read more.
