WDN WORKSHOP
Aligning Our Values and Actions: Challenging Inequities
September 15th and 16th
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Chicago, Illinois
This training was planned to precede the 24th Annual Luncheon of the Chicago Foundation for Women on September 17th, featuring Maya Angelou.
This workshop will focus on incorporating a racial justice lens in our work. Over time, we hope to delve into a layered analysis of the dynamics of race, gender, class, religion, sexual identity, citizenship status, physical/mental ability, and multiple marginalizations. The Women Donors Network envisions that this transformational workshop will become part of an on-going effort to develop a shared vocabulary, clearly articulate our values, strengthen our capacity to work collectively, and increase our ability to become powerful change makers.
Goals:
- Promote a racial justice lens and awareness in all WDN work
- Show the connection between personal and structural racism
- Increase the impact of our philanthropy
- Learn to communicate clearly and respectfully with one another and with the wider progressive movement
- Build a shared vocabulary around racial justice
Discussion Leaders:
