What We Fund
At Women Donors Network, we believe in a world where all people enjoy basic human rights and freedom from discrimination, violence, and oppression; where we are able to use environmental resources sustainably; and where all communities have equal access to economic opportunity.
United by a shared vision of justice and equity for all, our members invest their wealth, time, and talents together. We listen deeply to leaders and movements fighting injustice, move funds quickly, and foster creative strategies that advance systemic change. Through our collective giving initiatives, we’re changing the face of American politics, resourcing Black-led movements across the country, incubating new ideas, investing in women’s leadership, and mobilizing resources to support work that builds power. We prioritize funding for Black, Indigenous, and people of color-led and centered work, with a particular focus on women of color-led work. Read more about our initiatives and our funding below (2021 – present).
Founded after the reversal of Roe v. Wade, the Abortion Bridge Collaborative Fund (ABC Fund) will provide rapid-response resources needed to build the emergent and emergency infrastructure required to ensure access to abortion care for as many people as possible. This fund will build capacity in areas in which abortion care will continue and work towards access and legal protections in areas where it will not.
The Emergent Fund was founded by Women Donors Network, Solidaire, and other donor networks in the wake of the 2016 election. The Fund has provided more than $6.6 million to over 400 groups and activists since 2017, and WDN remains a core funder of this critical work. Visit the Emergent Fund website for more information or to apply for a grant.
Since 2015, the Jean Hardisty Initiative has been moving resources to Black-led movements that are making change in a huge array of issues in our country, with a long-term goal of eradicating structural inequality and eliminating the racialization of systems that uphold it.

The Reflective Democracy Campaign investigates and disrupts the demographics of power in the US. We fund and spearhead groundbreaking research and innovative efforts to achieve a democracy where women and people of color hold a fair share of power, and all Americans are represented in government.
The Safe & Sustainable Future For All Impact Collective is focused on building a healthy and sustainable planet, where all people and communities are equally protected from harm, including all forms of violence. Recognizing the centrality and intersection of women’s rights and environmental justice, we share a commitment to supporting women’s powerful leadership in this realm.
