Our Impact

At Women Donors Network, we believe in a world where all people enjoy basic human rights and freedom from discrimination, violence, and oppression; where we are able to use environmental resources sustainably; and where all communities have equal access to economic opportunity.

We boldly mobilize collective resources to meet emerging needs, launch catalytic initiatives, and build the long-term power, capacity, and infrastructure of movements. We do this via several collective funding vehicles, incubated initiatives, and rapid-response funding.

Catalyzing New Ideas

Through our incubated initiatives, we are investing in new ideas and filling critical gaps in the funding ecosystem.

  • Founded in 2014 and recognized nationally as a catalyst for change, the Reflective Democracy Campaign focuses on exploring and tracking the demographics of political power, conducts innovative grantmaking, and drives thought leadership on race, gender, and democracy.
  • The Emergent Fund is a rapid-response funding vehicle founded by WDN and other partner donor networks in 2016. Fiscally sponsored by the Amalgamated Foundation, the Emergent Fund supports emergent organizing for movement and frontline communities responding to unanticipated crises or opportunities to build power.
  • The Abortion Bridge Collaborative (ABC) Fund was established in the wake of the 2022 Dobbs decision to move money to build critical and emergent infrastructure to protect and advance reproductive justice nationwide.

Investing in Movements

With funding through several collective funding initiatives and collaboration across our team, member Steering Committees, and movement partners, we are investing in leaders and movements that are building a more just future.

  • The Opportunity & Equality For All Impact Collective believes in a just economy where all people enjoy basic human rights and freedom from discrimination, violence, and oppression. Our goal is to ensure that all workers – particularly those who are most vulnerable – have opportunities to succeed and thrive.
  • The Participation & Representation for All Impact Collective focuses on supporting solutions that will protect and engage voters, create secure elections, and strengthen our democracy.
  • The Safe & Sustainable Future for All Impact Collective envisions a healthy and sustainable planet for all, where all communities are equally protected from harm, including all forms of violence.
  • The Jean Hardisty Initiative – named after and guided by the values of the late Jean Hardisty, a longtime WDN member and feminist scholar – is dedicated to social movement building, leadership development, and grassroots organizing.

Responding to the Moment

Our funding model combines investment in long-term movement building with responsive funding to meet the moment. From climate, to reproductive justice, to democracy, to human rights, our approach is the same. We fight for the freedom, safety, and dignity of all people.

We’re committing to collective resourcing — unlocking the full power of the many social and political resources we hold. When we pool our resources in deep partnership with movements, the future we dream of becomes inevitable.
