Abortion Bridge Collaborative Fund Director
As the Director of WDN’s Abortion Bridge Collaborative (ABC) Fund, Amanda brings together a Grantmaking Advisory Council of movement leaders, manages the ABC Fund grantmaking administration, drives strong donor stewardship and fundraising efforts, and co-develops the strategic direction of the ABC fund.
Amanda is a queer Tejana with more than a decade of experience working in the reproductive justice movement. She is a mother, abortion storyteller, consultant, coach, facilitator, and activist. Amanda is originally from Houston, Texas, where she planted her roots as a community organizer. She obtained a Master’s in Political Social Work from the University of Houston.
Before coming to WDN, Amanda worked as a consultant to support nonprofit teams and directors to grow their leadership, ground in values, and strengthen impact. Amanda served as the founding executive director of Lilith Fund, Texas’s oldest abortion fund, from 2016-2023. Under her leadership, Lilith Fund supported thousands of Texans seeking abortion care and expanded its programming to include organizing and more comprehensive support for hotline callers. Amanda grew Lilith Fund’s people of color-led staff from one to 11 people and expanded the organizational budget from $350K to over $3 million. As a southern reproductive justice leader, Amanda has been featured in dozens of local and national media platforms and provided expert witness testimony on the harms of the Hyde Amendment in a US Congressional Subcommittee.
Amanda thrives in collaborative environments and loves supporting leaders and teams through pivotal growth moments. Amanda lives in Austin with her wife and daughter.
