Tamara Chao (she/her)

Vice President of Learning & Impact

Tamara (she/her) is the Vice President for Learning & Impact for WDN, leading strategy development for member engagement, programming, and collective impact. Prior to joining WDN, Tamara was the Director of Strategy and Partnerships for a start-up social enterprise focused on poverty alleviation and digital financial service provision. She brings experience working in the public and international development sectors, previously serving as a political officer with the U.S. Department of State in Myanmar and as a project manager with Chemonics International managing alternative agriculture and economic growth programs in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Her early domestic policy research work at the Center for American Progress focused on human rights and national service as a tool for workforce development. Tamara holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and a BA in International Relations from Tufts University.
