New WDN Study Documents the Paucity of Black Elected Prosecutors

Today, the Women Donors Network’s Reflective Democracy Campaign released its groundbreaking Justice for All*? study that tracked the race and gender of elected prosecutors nationwide. The results, covered in today's New York Times, uncover a criminal justice system that is managed and directed primarily by white men. Of 2,437 elected prosecutors, 95% are white and 79% are white men. 60% of states have no elected black prosecutors. And, just 17% of elected prosecutors are women. Read More »
