Board Member

Soma Sharan is the Senior Director of Growth and Impact at Amalgamated where she oversees the Foundation’s business development strategies with the goal of unlocking more resources for social change. Soma co-designed the Foundation’s Wealth Organizers Network, which brings together BIPOC philanthropic and financial advisors committed to distributing philanthropic resources in alignment with gender, economic, and racial justice.

Soma began her fundraising career at 10 years old, when she was deeply moved to support the Tahirih Justice Center, an organization supporting immigrant survivors fleeing gender-based violence.

Soma serves on the board of WDN, is a board member of a private family foundation, and a NextGen Board Member of the Sri Rama Foundation, an organization supporting an orphanage in India. She is a UCLA graduate, a Gates Millennium Scholar, and an Asian Pacific Islander Scholars Social Innovation Fellow. She joined WDN to connect with other young women of color and engage in intergenerational conversations in philanthropy.
